CERA Cycloan’s Alternative Educational Provisions are aimed at re-engaging learners in a very practical way, supporting and empowering them to set their own goals whilst working within a fully supportive structured curriculum. Our provisions are designed to improve a learner’s confidence and self-esteem, and help them develop the life skills they need to consider a new pathway.

As a restorative practice organisation we like to create a complete welcoming, harmonious learning environment to ensure our pupils are able to reflect on their own practice, behavior’s and learning.  We are proud to boast we implemented restorative practice as a workplace ethos which is reflected in our company core values.

Our Restorative Practice…

Promote Respect

Through daily practice show and give respect for everyone by listening to the opinions of others and valuing them is part of our own personal learning and development.

Promote Responsibility

Taking responsibility means owning your decisions and actions, understanding their impact, and learning from both successes and challenges. It empowers personal growth and contributes positively to communities and relationships.

Promote Positive Communication

Encourage asking questions and exploring every situation before forming an opinion or deciding an action. This encourages and develops the skills set required so individuals have the necessary skills to positively problem solve.

Promote Ownership

Every student, staff member, and volunteer's voice is valued. We encourage feedback on learning experiences and offer opportunities to contribute to decision-making and future planning for positive service-wide change.

Our Core Values – what we do and what we wont do…

The 5 Ways to Wellbeing:

An holistic approach to wellbeing is a very important part of our daily practice which we promote as a whole service approach which benefits our Students, Volunteers and staff alike

Our free Inductions

We facilitate a free inductions for all students prior to making a referral simply give us a call 0161 474 0990 to arrange an induction or have an initial chat. During the 45 min induction we will introduce everybody on site, discuss Health and Safety, First Aid and Welfare facilities. We feel this is a professional way to introduce students to the premises, staff, volunteers and other students already in attendance which removes any preconceived perceptions a prospective student may form and at the same time promotes the real procedure new employees would undergo.

We also discuss and explain our learning program to the prospective students and support staff, we will also discuss boundaries giving students and staff opportunity to ask us any questions they may have before proceeding to make a referral.

Training in Restorative Practice

Here at CERA Cycloan we pride ourselves on our restorative ethos. We like to think we lead by example and being mindful of this not only supports others to learn, develop and grow in a swift manner, but it also ensures we take time to recognise where there is room for our own development.

Restorative practice should not be thought of as being wholly centred on the criminal justice arena, restorative practice is an ethos which can be facilitated in many areas.

CERA Cycloan can provide training for workers or clients in the following areas:

  1. Introduction to  restorative practice and where can it be used?
  2. Practical Staff training in restorative conversation
  3. Reparation and community service; how restorative are they?
  4. Restorative conflict management
