February / March 2022 – A total of 23 Bikes donated out

You donate bikes to us we repair and donate them right back out when we can afford to.  During February and March 2022 we managed to service 23 Children’s Cycles and offer them as donations to children of asylum seekers families.  The look on these kids faces was priceless, they certainly didn’t expect to receive 23 bike totally free, it took seconds for these Children to jump on the bikes and get riding, and even those who couldn’t ride a bike learnt how to do so in less than 45 mins. These Children have encountered incredible hard times, fear and uncertainty but it was evident at such a young age they were determined, resilient, Thankful and most of all happy.

Your Donations Change Lives

Donated in and Donated back out…..

Thanks to all the kind people of Stockport donating unwanted bikes to us we have been able to service 10 Children’s bikes which were donated back out in December 2021 to children and families working with Social Care, Great partnership working and 10 happy kids, thanks for your continued support.

Voluntary Work Recognised

Congratulations and thanks for your hard work

Our quality small team of volunteers are committed to working alongside our staff to productively engage with young people and adults experiencing life challenges.  They are also encouraged and empowered to feed into a variety of tasks from assisting with the direction of the company, attending festivals, leading free bike rides and much more…

Even our regular staff volunteer some of their time for free. You may ask why?  The simple answer is…

We are a bonded team, who support each other and who invest in communities and the individuals who live in them.

Funded courses for the general public

For the past four years TFGM have funded public cycle maintenance courses to up-skill regular cyclists, and encourage people who are looking to start cycling.
This has been a fantastic initiative, saving the communities across Greater Manchester money and at the same time promoting cycling across Greater Manchester.

CERA Cycloan are proud to work together with TFGM to up-skill cyclists and promote cycling as a sustainable form of travel.

Funding will not last for ever so why not check out our Cycle Maintenance Course page today for the next available courses?

Annual Charity Bike Donations

For the last four years CERA Cycloan have worked together with Stockport School’s staff and students, and Mission Christmas.

Our students refurbish children’s bikes to national standards and clean them meticulously to get them ready to donate to young people who are not expecting to receive Christmas presents. Stockport School’s students work hard at collecting other gifts ready for donation. The attention to detail all students give is amazing to see.

It is very rewarding for our staff and volunteers to see how much our students value being able to give to others and also to work together with a mainstream school and their students to benefit others.

The hard work that students and staff from CERA Cycloan and Stockport School dedicate to this initiative results in a pool of donations being gifted to children across Greater Manchester through the Hits Radio Christmas Appeal.

CERA Cycloan “Your Local Social Enterprise”, have recently been awarded “The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services” and Working together with Stockport School adds value to the work we do in our communities the whole process is a benefit to all staff and students from both Stockport School and CERA Cycloan.

Stockport School promotes cycling as an active way to travel to and from school and actively promotes cycle safety and on-site cycle security such as using locks.

CERA Cycloan has worked productively with Stockport School on Mission Christmas for the past 4 years and it’s a relationship we hope to continue and build upon.

Fashion Design from Recycled goods

Upcycled Fashion Design

All of the costumes designed by Christine at CERA Cycloan for the “MAN ON BENCH” fashion show  were made with recycled items such as ring pulls, inner tubes, bike tyres, bicycle wheel rims, and unwanted plastic bags.

The CERA Cycloan costumes were modeled at the show by our volunteers who looked amazing. We would like thank everybody involved for pulling together a hugely impactful show.

“MAN ON BENCH”

During August 2017 through to end of September 2017 CERA Cycloan donated free use of our arts and design workshop for four weeks and supplied members of our staff to work supporting the artist David Tovey, the charity “H3 Helping the Homeless into Housing”, and the Museum of Homelessness to design and make fashion costumes for the “Man on Bench”  dramatic theatrical show expressing the complex effects of homelessness.
